Part Library FAQs

What parts are in the Part Library?

The Part Library has parts for the complete device, not only electronics. It has ICs, passive components, connectors, sensors, displays, and motors. It also has mechanical parts such as nuts, bolts, screws, and standoffs. Search the library, or ask Flux to find and add the parts your design needs.

Why is Flux archiving my parts instead of deleting them?

When you publish a part to the part library and set its sharing permissions to public, other users can use the part in their projects.

If you delete a published part, Flux archives it, so that other users do not lose it. Flux removes an archived part from the part library and hides it from you. The part stays in the projects of other users. If you did not publish a part to the part library, you can delete it fully.

Why don't my parts show up in the library?

Ask Flux to publish the part to the library.

Publish this part to the library.
Publish a new version of this part.

To do it in the UI:

Publish a part to make it searchable in the library.

How can I set up a new custom footprint?

Ask Flux to create a part with its footprint, or to fork a part from the library.

Create a part for the TPS62133 with the footprint from its datasheet.
Fork the library part of this connector into a new part that I can edit.

To do it in the UI:

You define footprints in part projects. To create a custom footprint, create a new part, or clone or fork an existing part from the Library. For more information, see Part Library.
