Product images and videos

Show your product before the first unit ships. Flux is an AI hardware engineer, and it makes product images and videos of the device that it designed with you. The images and videos show your board and your enclosure, not a stock picture of a similar product. Use them on a launch page, in a pitch deck, in a store listing, or on a crowdfunding page.

When the design changes, ask again. The next image or video shows the new design.

What you can make for a launch

Tell Flux what the image or video is for and where you use it.

Make a product image of this device for our launch page. Show it in use where people would really use it.

Make a transparent cutout of the device for our store listing.
Make a hero image for our crowdfunding page with the headline "Meet Crema" at the top.

Create product images from your design

Ask Flux for a product image of the device in your project. Flux starts from the board and the enclosure in the 3D view. Say what the image is for, the scene, the camera angle, and the background.

Make two product images of this smart espresso scale for our launch page: a clean studio shot on a white background, and a lifestyle shot of the device in use where people would really use it. Keep the device exactly as designed.
Create a product image of the thermostat on the wall of a modern office, at eye level.
Make a product image of the controller on a DIN rail in a control cabinet.
Make a close view of the display and the buttons for the features slide of our pitch deck.

  1. Open the project that has the board and the enclosure of the device.

  2. Open the Chat panel.

  3. Tell Flux what the image is for, for example a launch page or a store listing.

  4. Describe the scene, the camera angle, the background, and the light.

  5. Flux shows the image in the chat and saves it to the project assets.

Create lifestyle shots and hero images

Ask Flux for a lifestyle shot to show the product in use. Ask for a hero image to show the product with a headline. Write the exact words of the headline in quotation marks.

Make a lifestyle shot of the scale on a kitchen counter in the morning, with a cup of espresso on the platform.
Make a hero image for our crowdfunding page: the smart espresso scale on a table next to a phone, with the headline "Meet Smart Espresso Scale" at the top in clean white letters.
Make a lifestyle shot of the wearable on a wrist during a run, for the first slide of our pitch deck.
Make a product image of the monitor on a greenhouse post beside a plant, for our store listing.

  1. Open the project that has the device design.

  2. Open the Chat panel.

  3. Tell Flux what the image is for and describe the scene or headline.

Edit product images

Ask Flux to change an image that it made. Say what to change and what to keep the same. Ask for one change at a time.

Edit the lifestyle image: change only the time of day to a warm evening. Keep everything else the same.
Make a transparent cutout of the studio shot for our store listing.
Change the background of the studio shot to light gray. Keep the device and the light the same.
Remove the coffee jar from the lifestyle image.

  1. In the Chat panel, tell Flux which image to edit.

  2. Say what to change and what to keep the same.

  3. Flux shows the edited image in the chat and saves it to the project assets.

Attach a photo or paste its link. Tell Flux what to change and what to keep.

Here is a photo of our prototype on my desk. Put it on a clean white studio background with a soft shadow. Keep the device exactly as it is in the photo.
Remove the cable from this photo of our board.
Change the background of this photo to a workshop bench.

  1. Open the Chat panel.

  2. Attach the photo or paste its link.

  3. Tell Flux what to change and what to keep.

Turn a sketch into a product render

Ask Flux to turn a sketch into a product render. Tell Flux the material, color, and background.

Turn this sketch into a photo-realistic product render of our smart espresso scale, matte black, on a white background.
Make a render of the device in this concept sketch, in the colors of the sketch.
Turn my napkin sketch of the enclosure into a studio render for our pitch deck.

  1. Attach the sketch in the Chat panel, or ask Flux for a concept sketch first.

  2. Tell Flux the material, the color, and the background.

Make variations of one scene

Ask Flux to make variations of a scene, a product color, or an expression on a display.

Make three variations of a lifestyle shot of this smart espresso scale: on a home kitchen counter, on a café bar, and on an office desk. Keep the device exactly as designed.
Show the device in three colors: white, black, and sage green.
Make six expressions for the face on the display.

  1. Open the Chat panel.

  2. Tell Flux what to vary and describe each scene or variation.

Create product videos

Ask Flux for a product video of the device in your project. Flux makes a still image of your device in the scene that you ask for. Then Flux turns the image into a short clip. You get the clip in the chat.

Make a short product video of this thermostat for our launch page. Show the finished device on a wall in a modern office.
Make a quick draft of a product video of the scale on a kitchen counter, so I can check the scene.
Make a product ad from our product images. The brief: a smart espresso scale for home baristas, calm and premium.
Make a vertical product video of this smart espresso scale for social posts: a slow turntable on a dark background.
Make a 3-shot story video for our crowdfunding page: the smart espresso scale in its box, the scale in use under a cup of espresso, and a close view of the display.
Make a short clip of the controller in a control cabinet for our customer update.

Watch the clip in the blog post Product videos from your design.

  1. Open the project that has the board and the enclosure of the device.

  2. Open the Chat panel.

  3. Tell Flux what the video is for and who watches it.

  4. Describe the scene and the camera movement, for example a slow push-in toward the device.

  5. To get a different format, ask for a vertical clip, a longer clip, or a story with several shots.

  6. Flux shows the clip in the chat.

To make a turntable video or an exploded-view animation from the 3D model, see 3D View.

Change a clip

Flux changes a clip that it made or that you give it. Tell Flux what to change and what to keep.

Change this clip of our scale: keep the device and the slow turntable motion, and change the dark background to a warm wooden kitchen counter.
Make this clip vertical for social posts.
Change the lighting in this clip to a warm evening.

  1. Open the Chat panel.

  2. Attach the clip or paste its link.

  3. Tell Flux what to change and what to keep.

Put your product into a video

Tell Flux which object in the clip to replace and provide an image of your product.

Put our smart espresso scale into this video, in place of the white kitchen scale. Use our studio shot as the product image.
Replace the speaker in this ad clip with our speaker.

  1. Open the Chat panel.

  2. Attach the video and product image, or paste their links.

  3. Tell Flux which object to replace.

Make a promo video with a presenter

Ask Flux to make a short promo with a presenter and your product.

Make a short promo video for our crowdfunding page: the person in this photo presents our smart espresso scale to the camera.
Make a vertical promo where our presenter shows the device and points to the display.

Attach a photo of the presenter and a product image, and Flux makes a short clip of the presenter showing the device.

  1. Open the Chat panel.

  2. Attach a photo of the presenter and a product image.

  3. Tell Flux what the presenter should do.
