Firmware with Flux

Flux is an AI hardware engineer. Flux writes, builds, and tests firmware that connects a device's schematic, board, and mechanical design.

Firmware workflows

Tell Flux what the device must do and which parts it uses. Flux can write a firmware starter document from the schematic, map pins and peripherals, compile firmware, run host tests, and prepare a board bring-up plan. It can also work from your code and use values from a mechanical model in firmware constants.

Write firmware for this sensor board. Read the temperature sensor and send the value over USB serial once per second.
Create firmware for this motor controller. Read the encoder, set the motor speed, and document the pin map.

Open the Chat panel in your project and describe the device behavior. Flux can use the schematic, project files, and mechanical model in the same project. Ask for one outcome at a time or describe the whole device and its firmware.

Firmware connects the electronics to the behavior of a complete product. Flux can initialize sensors and actuators, manage Wi-Fi or BLE, sequence startup, and set up error handling and a watchdog. When the board or its connections change, Flux can update the firmware document, pin map, and bring-up plan with the design.

Firmware reference pages

Tell Flux which part of the firmware workflow you want to complete next. Use the pages below to choose a focused task and the details to include.

Build this project's firmware and report the image files and memory footprint.
Prepare a bring-up plan for this board, including expected rail voltages and interface tests.

Open Chat to ask Flux, or select Files in the project view switcher to read the firmware starter document and bring-up plan. Use these pages to guide each step:

Firmware for the complete device

Tell Flux how firmware fits with the other parts of your product. Flux can connect the schematic and PCB with mechanical dimensions, simulation results, manufacturing needs, and project documentation.

Use the sensor position and spacer dimensions in the mechanical model as firmware constants.
Update firmware and the board bring-up plan for the new I2C sensor and connector.

Open the Chat panel for design work. Select Files in the project view switcher to find project documents and generated firmware files. To connect a firmware-development service, select AI Integrations in Chat, open the Integrations tab, and choose Firmware & Development.

Firmware can use a mechanical value such as sensor position or enclosure dimensions. Flux can then keep that value with the source and update it when the model changes. You can also connect public code repositories and a firmware-monitoring integration to use code and field crash data in the next revision. This keeps the firmware behavior connected to the physical location and size of the components in the device.

Use project files to keep the design work together. The firmware starter document records the board setup and source. The pin map connects code to schematic nets. The bring-up plan lists how to test the assembled board. Generated images and test results remain available beside these project documents.
